Return To Sport Rehab

Metric and Evidence Based Return to Sport

During the rehab process, we are frequently asked, “when can I return to my sport?” At Good Reps, our return to sport program is designed to help you safely and effectively return to your chosen sport after an injury. We use a variety of metrics to track your progress and ensure that you are ready to return to play. What makes us different from other PT clinics is we do NOT guess. We measure you readiness for return to play using the latest technology including force plates and sport specific tests.

Here are some of the metrics we use:

  • Range of motion (ROM): We measure your ROM to ensure that you have regained the full range of motion in your injured joint.

  • Strength: We measure your strength to ensure that you have regained the strength in your injured muscles using dynamometers.

  • Power: We measure your power to ensure that you are able to generate enough power to perform the movements required in your sport using force plates.

  • Agility: We measure your agility to ensure that you are able to change direction and react quickly.

  • Balance: We measure your balance to ensure that you are able to maintain your balance during dynamic movements.

  • Pain: We assess your pain level to ensure that you are able to tolerate the demands of your sport without pain.

We also use a variety of functional tests to assess your ability to perform the specific movements required in your sport.

Once you have met all of our criteria, we will work with you on a plan of how to return to sport safely. We will also provide you with a personalized plan to help you maintain your progress and prevent future injuries.
